What does Status Studio do?

What inputs does it accept?

A Suno song URL, a YouTube link, or a direct MP3 / M4A / WAV upload up to 25 MB and 10 minutes long.

Why do I have to upload audio when I paste a YouTube or Suno link?

We only fetch public metadata (title, artist, lyrics) from those services. To respect their terms of service, audio is never proxied through our servers — please supply audio you have rights to share.

Is this safe? Where does my audio go?

All processing happens in your browser. Audio never leaves your device unless you explicitly opt into the cloud-render fallback (for older iPhones) or publish a public Status Pack.

How long is each segment?

30 seconds by default — WhatsApp Status's hard cap. You can switch to 15 seconds in the settings.

Does it cut on the beat?

Yes. The 'Musical' preset snaps cuts to the nearest beat within ±2 seconds. The 'Lyric-first' preset avoids splitting words.

Can I edit a cut point?

Drag any handle on the timeline, or use arrow keys (±0.1s) and Shift+arrow (±1s) for fine control. Downstream segments re-flow live.

Can I change the cover image?

Pick from the template gallery, generate AI art per segment, or upload your own. 'Style lock' applies one look across all segments.

How does sharing work?

On Android Chrome you tap once and WhatsApp's share sheet opens with the first MP4. After you post, the next segment is staged automatically.

What about desktop?

On desktop we package all segments as a ZIP and walk you through posting via WhatsApp Web.

Does it work on iPhone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On older iOS Safari we offer an opt-in cloud-render fallback because the in-browser MP4 encoder hits memory limits there.

Can I publish my pack and let friends remix it?

Accepted Answer

Yes — publishing creates a short link friends can preview and remix. Remix lineage and trending leaderboards are part of the experience.

Is publishing copyright-safe?

Accepted Answer

Publishing requires a one-time rights attestation. Source attribution is baked into every cover by default, and a takedown route is available from every public pack.

Question 14

Will WhatsApp post it automatically for me?

Accepted Answer

WhatsApp has no public Status API, so v1 needs you to tap 'Post' once per segment. A future Android companion app will offer true auto-post via the Accessibility Service.
